Yellow Fever in Philadelphia
The Yellow Fever Epidemic was among the worst outbreak in American history, wiping out 10% of Philadelphia's population in 1793. Some citizens feld to the countryside, but some refused to leave their homes. In 1793, medicene was very crude and most of the doctors were not officially trained. Niether the stethoscope or the thermometer had been invented at the time. So early detection of Yellow Fever was extremely hard to see.
